Configuration Manager Site Recovery
Previously, in this chapter, we've discussed the different Configuration Manager backup options. Now let's have a look at how these backups can be used to recover sites and site servers in case of a disaster. There are multiple ways to recover a site. The method you can use depends on what has happened and what backup is available to you.
We will concentrate on the following four possible scenarios in this chapter:
Install new Configuration Manager Primary site and restore previous site from SQL backup.
Install new Configuration Manager Primary site and restore previous site from Configuration Manager backup.
Recover Primary site from Configuration Manager backup.
Recover Secondary Site.
In order to see what options there are, launch the Configuration Manager Setup Wizard using splash.hta on the installation media. Choose Recover a Site from the Available Setup Options. You are presented with the Site Server and Database Recovery Options dialog box.
