Your habits and beliefs dictate how you relate to your colleagues. This happens both consciously and unconsciously. It is impossible to know exactly how this affects other people. You do not know their inner thoughts and feelings. You cannot know if they feel treated fairly or unfairly. You cannot know if they feel treated harshly or kindly. However, there is one person with whom we do have that level of insight: ourselves.
During reflection, we can start to understand how we are treating ourselves. Is our own internal narrative, kind, fair, and generous? Or is it harsh, judgmental, and mean? Almost everyone is tougher on themselves than they are on other people. However, the fundamental habits and beliefs that underly behavior are the same, whether you are thinking about yourself or others.
