Working in sales and being responsible for selling can be difficult, and it's not for everybody – least of all the introverted developer-now-manager!
However, selling ideas is very much part of a manager's job, whether that's selling ideas about improvement to their team, or selling an idea for a new software product or feature to a potential customer. Besides that, there's always the cliché of "selling yourself," or your team, or the organization you represent.
