The ideal assistant is one who appears when you need something and disappears when the need is served. Jeeves has knowledge about all topics and can answer every question that his master might raise. Jeeves also has inside knowledge about various causes and reasons and can explain why things are the way they are. He has knowledge about relationships between people. While being so knowledgeable, Jeeves is nevertheless unobtrusive and appears only when there is a need. Your need may not be expressed. You don’t have to summon Jeeves; he just appears whenever there is a need.
