Inserting a video from your filesystem

It is not hard to upload video files to your prezi. The great benefit of this method is that it allows you to present and show your videos without being online and without relying on outside servers (such as YouTube's or Vimeo's servers).

For these reasons, we (the authors of this book) prefer to upload our videos into the prezi.

The downside is that if you upload too many video files to a prezi, the prezi may take longer to load before playing, and it tends to react more slowly when presenting. The key is to balance the amount of content so that it matches the prezi's capability to handle it. There are no set numbers for this balance as it will depend on the amount of content in your prezi and the individual sizes of the videos.

Getting ready

  1. Open your prezi.

How to do it…

  1. Click on Insert.
  2. Choose From File (PDF, video) ….
  3. Select a video. Then click on Open.
  4. Give the prezi some time to load.
