Summary
In this chapter, we talked about Pentaho's functionalities, indicated what license it uses, and defined it. We also talked about Pentaho's modular design and the interaction of its components. We also reviewed the principal projects that integrate the Pentaho suite. We saw a brief historical summary of the different versions of Pentaho BA Server and detailed their principal characteristics. We downloaded Pentaho BA Server and specified its system requirements. We installed Pentaho BA Server, configured the MySQL JDBC driver, and ran it. Using a web browser, we logged in to Pentaho User Console (PUC), saw the general layout of this console, and created the solutions folder Reporting
