Summary
In this chapter, we have taken a somewhat high-level look at the basics of capturing images to use in operating system deployment. We have also discussed what type of image you might want to use in this process as well as looking at integrating with the Microsoft Deployment Toolkit.
We have also looked at how to manage a driver library in Configuration Manager as well as looking at how to create virtual hard disks in Configuration Manager, which can be used in your virtualization environment and even uploaded to Virtual Machine Manager.
In the next chapter, we will be looking at how to use the software update functionality of Configuration Manager to apply security updates to your environment as well as deploying patches for products, which may have been written in house or by third-party products.
