The Common Data Service (CDS) is the data and services platform for Dynamics 365 and the Power Platform. At the time of publishing, Microsoft Dataverse (formerly known as the Common Data Service) was undergoing a branding change. You will see the use of Common Data Service and the abbreviation CDS throughout this chapter. There are several changes to terminology such as tables (formerly entities), columns (formerly fields), rows (formerly records), choices (formerly option sets), and yes/no (formerly two options). These terminology changes will be applied to the user interface, documentation, and exam over time. You should be aware that the terms used in this chapter may not match the tools and documentation.
