Summary
In this chapter, you learned how to import and export data into JIRA. We started with understanding how to take a backup of the entire JIRA instance. You also learned how to restore the instance from this backup. We also looked at scenarios where you want to import selected projects from the backup file. We spent considerable time understanding how to migrate data to JIRA using the CSV file, which provides a lot of flexibility in importing not only simple data, but also complex data with subtasks and attachments as well. Finally, we also understood how to use the Configuration Manager add-on in order to easily migrate configurations from one instance of JIRA to another.
In the next chapter, we will understand how to implement Scrum and Kanban methodologies in JIRA using a powerful add-on from Atlassian called JIRA Agile for Agile tracking.
