Advanced Drawing, Painting and Illustration Techniques

In this chapter, we will look at some of the more esoteric design functions that you'll find in Elements. I use the word esoteric simply because these features are more graphic than photographic, more illustrative than documentary. However, as you'll see here, these features can be used to create impressive standalone designs, or they can be incorporated into your day-to-day photography projects to produce outstanding results.

As you'll see in this chapter, it's not so hard to push your experience into the field of basic graphic design—and if that's not your interest, we'll also look at some of Elements' creative brush effects, tools such as the cool Impressionist Brush, and even learn how to work with custom brushes, create scrapbooking pages and get into photobashing projects.
