In this section, you will learn how to insert external animations in your Adobe Captivate project. These animations are called external, because they are created outside of Captivate in applications such as Adobe Animate CC or Adobe Photoshop CC.
Captivate lets you import three types of such animations:
- Animated GIF files
- Flash-based animations (with a .swf file extension)
- HTML5 animations
Since Adobe has announced the end of the Flash Player by 2020, this book only covers inserting GIF animations and HTML5 animations. In the final project, you will not need these animations. Therefore, the following two exercises are for demonstration purposes only. You will create a new slide in the takeTheTrain.cptx project to experiment with inserting external animations. At the end of this section, this slide will be deleted:
