The evolution’s core governance

In this section, we will discuss the core governance bodies and mechanisms that we suggest you establish when governing your evolution. Note that we will intentionally not refer to communication tools, progress and risk reporting, and change management methodologies, as we consider these to be obvious basic hygiene mechanisms that should already be established.

Establishing a DevOps 360° vision authority group

Direction setting, orientation, steering, and sponsorship will be required and strong involvement from senior management will need to be secured. Senior management in our context refers to senior directors from various units, including business, technology, and group functions, that are hierarchically positioned one or two levels below the group COO, depending on your organizational structure.
