Recovering from a system crash

If Cisco IOS is missing or damaged, you have an option to use a bootloader. It has a command line that provides access to the Flash memory. In addition, the bootloader enables you to format the Flash memory, reinstall the IOS, and recover a lost or forgotten password. You can access the bootloader in the following way:

Connect your PC to a switchover console cable.
Open the Tera Term emulator on your PC and establish a serial connection with a switch.
While still consoled into the switch, remove the power cord from the back of the switch, and after one minute...
