Time for action – setting up a Windows WMI user
Logon to your Windows system as an administrator.
Go to Control Panel then to Administrative Tools and double-click on Computer Management.
Click on Local Users and Groups and then click on Users.
Click on the Action menu and select New User.
Enter wmiuser as the User name and enter a password.
Set everything as shown in the following screenshot:
Click on the Create button.
Edit the user and go to the Member Of tab.
Add the Performance Log Users and Performance Monitor Users group to the list.
Click on Apply, then click on Ok.
In the left pane, expand the Services and Applications group and right-click on WMI Control.
Select the Properties entry.
In the new dialog box, click on the Security tab and select CIMV2 from the list.
Click on the Security button.
Add the wmiuser you created earlier to the list and assign it Enable Account and Remote Enable permissions.
Click on Apply and then click on Ok.
Now restart the WMI service in order to apply...
