Summary

We have now covered the RDS service, which gives us the ability to deliver fully managed relational databases from the cloud. We have learned about the different database engine types that are available in the RDS environment and the different features these database engines support. We have also learned how to deploy, manage, scale, and back up the RDS databases, how to make the database service highly available and secure, and how to scale the RDS clusters in several ways to increase cluster performance. In the next chapter, we will be introducing ourselves to ElastiCache.
