Chapter 5. Deploying a Mobile App
Web development has traditionally been discussed in the context of desktop web browsers, until recent technological developments that have given web applications a new contextual purpose. These new contexts arose in the form of quality browsers tailored to mobile and wearable devices. This alone was a huge leap forward for web applications, as they began to evolve to meet the needs presented by these new contexts. Many developers, and some users, still feel that web applications should be treated as first-class citizens on mobile devices with experiences that are on par with native mobile applications. This is the Holy Grail of the Web and its community because new contexts allow us to take our skills to new heights, and ultimately, provide the best experience possible, no matter what the context of use is.
