Setting up and sharing printers
When setting up a print environment, often one of the first steps is to set up a print server. The print server allows for a centralized location to configure and manage printers, change configurations, and distribute print drivers. Additionally, a print server provides end users with a single location in which to look for available printers, and automatically apply drivers and administrative changes.
In this recipe, we will be setting up a print server to manage several network-based printers. We will configure the server to share the printers to clients.
Getting ready
In this recipe, we will be using a Windows Server 2012 server to function as our print server. Additionally, we will be accessing and sharing an HP LaserJet 9000 printer. The printer is already assigned the IP of 10.0.0.200
.
