Email marketing
Email marketing is a gold standard in the world of audience building – and while perhaps it fell out of fashion with the rise of social media, the continued evolution (and some might say decline) of first-generation networks such as Twitter and Facebook has led in popularity of a return to email marketing. For small businesses and individual creators, email messages have become a personal and simple way to share updates directly with your dedicated audience.
In Chapter 7, Using Content Blocks and Building Forms, we talked about adding a mailing list signup form to your site with the Newsletter block. Now, we’ll look a bit deeper into Email Campaigns. To begin, navigate to Marketing Tools from Settings. Similar to commerce setup, Email Campaigns has a simple checklist to ensure your campaigns are set up with three steps: Create a mailing list, Select an email template, and Add sender details (as seen in Figure 17.3).
