Defining adoption and change management
Change is inevitable, but transformation is not. SharePoint Online and the other collaboration tools in M365 have the potential to have a tremendous impact on the productivity of an organization if they’re implemented well and received positively. Adoption and change management concepts are just as important as the technical details in that equation. To understand these concepts, we should probably start by defining these terms.
Adoption
What do we mean by adoption in the context of software and services? Microsoft offers a great starting point for understanding adoption with their definition – “deep, habitual usage that delivers tangible value to the employees, a line of business, and the organization.” So, adoption is more than just counting clicks – usage statistics are part of the story, but not the whole story.
