Summary

In this chapter we have successfully configured our first tunnels. We have connected Windows and Linux systems and safely transferred the encryption keys necessary using WinSCP. We had to use the tool dos2unix to correct the plaintext files exchanged. After that we have tested the tunnels and activated them at boot time on both systems, including a short introduction to the Linux init system and runlevels. The last topic we discussed was about Windows and SuSE Linux firewall issues, including stopping and deactivating these firewalls.
