Summary


Our OpenStack administration toolbox is starting to look pretty full by this point in the book. Cannot stress enough how important it is to have a snapshot of your cloud state. These reports could be a good starting point to having that.  Before concluding this chapter, let's take a moment to recap this chapter. Together we reviewed some gaps in OpenStack regarding reports on the clouds inventory and how you can overcome them. Then details were provided on how you can get access to the metrics and statistics we would need by querying the database.  Next, we examined the custom SQL queries used to pull out the data from the database in detail. Finally, we developed Ansible playbook and role to automate generating the cloud reports. 

It saddens me a bit to say that the next chapter is our last chapter. With that said, it most certainly happens to probably be one of the most important chapters. Knowing the health of your cloud is tantamount to having a working OpenStack ecosystem. Due...
