What does being 'creative' mean
When we think of creativity, often, we think of someone good with color, who can paint or draw, has lots of ideas, or, in some way, shape, or form, has a unique approach to things. While it’s true these are all aspects of creativity, they can also mean something different in the context of instructional design.
Like many other creative fields, instructional design is surprisingly analytical and creative at once. While you, as an ID, might have many original and interesting ideas surrounding how to approach a given learning experience, there will most likely be some organizational constraints surrounding what you can and cannot do. For example, you’ll need to ensure your content and interaction design supports all the course learning objectives, even if you did not write them.
