Managing licenses and contracts
In the previous section, we discussed the licenses that we need in order to use software in our cloud environments. But the usage of the cloud platforms itself is licensed too, as we have seen in the first section. So, we have a cloud platform, cloud services such as Platform as a Service (PaaS) and Software as a Service (SaaS), and we have software that we run in these environments. For all these components, we need licenses. Companies find themselves confronted with two major challenges:
