Security roles
A security role is a set of permissions that allow a user to perform tasks. System Center Configuration Manager 2012 has built-in security roles that cover common responsibilities. You have the opportunity to create custom roles according to particular needs for your organization. Security roles are visible through the entire System Center Configuration Manager hierarchy and are replicated for all the sites.
Built-in roles
The built-in security roles consist of a set of permissions required for typical IT administrator tasks. If some of these roles meet your requirements and needs, you can assign your Configuration Manager administrators to them. These built-in security roles can only be viewed but cannot be modified.
