Time for action – defining permissions for a bookmark entry


In this section, you will create new a bookmark entry in the CIGNEX Neighbourhood community and define permissions for it.

  1. Log in as the Neighborhood site administrator and go to the Control Panel. In the Control Panel, click on the Bookmarks link from the Content section for the CINGEX Neighbourhood community from the left-hand side menu. It will bring you to the Bookmark portlet.

  2. After that, click on Add Bookmark from the right-hand side menu. It will open a screen to add a new bookmark. Enter the following data on the screen:

    • Name: Google.

    • URL: http://www.google.com.

    • Comments: Google URL.

    • Permissions: You can set permissions for this bookmark at the time of creation as well. Liferay allows setting the basic permission for any resource at the time of creation. You should make this bookmark viewable to all users, so select Anyone (Guest Role) in Viewable by drop-down.

  3. Now click on the Save button.
