Manga is usually known for its striking linework. Most manga is in black and white, and so the lines must be bold and clearly show action, as well as the point on which the reader should focus their attention. One way that many manga artists do this is by using parallel lines to show motion, and focus lines to lead the reader's eyes to the point of interest in a frame.
