Gathering information using theharvester
In this recipe, we will to use theharvester. The objective of this is to gather e-mails, subdomains, hosts, employee names, open ports, and banners from different public sources, such as search engines, PGP key servers, and the Shodan computer database.
Getting ready
For this recipe, you will require an Internet connection.
How to do it...
- Open the terminal and start theharvester, as shown in the following screenshot:
- Theharvester help shows the example syntax also. For the purpose of our demonstration, we will be using the following command:
# theharvester -d visa.com -l 500 -b all
- Successful execution of the preceding command gives the following information:
