Organizing the interview
The modern engineering interview is a long and complex affair, often lasting a full day. It is important that interviewees be evaluated both by their prospective peers as well as management. As the interview coordinator, you will be responsible for scheduling the interviewee to come in, recruiting interviewers, and determining the order of the day's schedule, organizing food and drink as necessary, and making sure that resources such as conference rooms are free for interview use.
Having a clear and predetermined framework for interview days will help the process of organization go smoothly. A standard engineering interview is a four to six hour day during which a candidate meets around five individual interviewers for no more than one hour each.
