We use Wi-Fi to connect our edge device to an internet router to gain access to the internet. But what about the connections from our edge device to our sensors? So far, we have shown these connections to be made via a wire hooked up to the General Purpose Input Output (GPIO) port of our edge device to our sensors or switches. However, there is a way to hook up devices wirelessly to our edge device. One such technology is Bluetooth. In the following sections, we will discuss this technology and display how it may be used in an edge analytics application.
