Import Options

SketchUp Pro is able to import a variety of file types that can help with modeling, visualization, and providing contextual elements to your SketchUp models. In this section, we will look at three primary categories of files that can be imported: 3D files, 2D files, and image files.

Note

Extensions can be added to SketchUp Pro that make it possible to import additional file types. We will discuss extensions later in this chapter. This section will focus on the files that SketchUp Pro can natively import.

SketchUp will allow 3D files, 2D files, and image files to be imported through the same workflow. Files can be imported by selecting the File dropdown in the Main Menu and choosing Import…:
