Reading a CLD
Before we end this chapter, let's work our way around the Sprint Planning Process (displayed in Figure 2.10 in the previous chapter). This exercise will help you understand how to assess the relationships described across the CLD model.
Sprint planning is part of Scrum-based Agile methodology. I previously noted that there are 17 CLD models in my previous book. However, the 17 CLD models span 3 distinct processes:
- Sprint Planning
- Project-to-product team transformations
- Enterprise implementations of Scrum
All three CLD models are related to analyzing IT functions, but each has a very different scope and set of objectives. For example, the Sprint Planning model is composed of five separate CLDs. The five CLDs break out loosely around specific areas of focus that the teams might want to analyze. These areas include the following:
