Privacy by design
Privacy by design (PbD) is a fundamental approach to data security that emphasizes the incorporation of privacy issues into system, process, and technology design and development. It tries to handle privacy concerns proactively by incorporating privacy safeguards throughout the whole data processing lifecycle rather than installing them as an afterthought. The notion of informed consent is a major pillar of PbD since it ensures that individuals have control over their personal data and understand the ramifications of its usage.
