Time for action – moving the lamp close to the cube
Now, it's time to use a different method to move an object. By performing the following steps, you will demonstrate that the lamp is a point of light radiating out:
- Press the 1 key on the NumPad to get the front view.
- Put the cursor over the lamp.
- Press the RMB to select the lamp.
- Press and release (tap) the G key.
- Use the mouse to move the lamp down until it is in level with the cube and is right next to it, as shown in the next screenshot. Press the LMB to release the lamp.
- Press the 7 key on the NumPad to get the top view.
- Tap the G key.
- Use the mouse to move the lamp up so that it is next to the cube and at the same level as the center of the cube. Press the LMB to release the lamp.
- Press F12 to render the scene.
- Observe how the cube looks. It should look as shown in the following screenshot.
- Press the Esc button to close the render window.
