Understanding responsible AI
Using insights that have been extracted from data to drive decisions is not necessarily a new practice. However, recent developments in society have raised many questions on what should or shouldn't be allowed when it comes to implementing AI. As a result, many organizations have started talking about how to use AI more responsibly.
So, what is meant by responsible AI? The idea of using AI responsibly mostly means that AI should cause no harm to anyone. There may be several ways in which we can cause harm. As AI is used to make decisions, we often look at how these decisions impact any individual. If we treat certain individuals unfairly or make the wrong decisions, we can cause them harm. Throughout this chapter, we'll explore how privacy, interpretability, and fairness are ways in which we can use AI responsibly.
