Summary
Adobe Illustrator offers so many ways to create and adjust the appearance of vector paths and the shapes they create, that it may feel like a daunting task to decide which tools and techniques to use for each situation. But, from observing these options to the appearance attributes of a path, you should have some new ideas for customizing the look of any shape you create. You might become more astute at the use of colors and color harmonies. You might take this previous experience and use it to make even wiser choices on changing the appearance of an illustration. It should become easier for you, over time, to make choices regarding the options for texture, pattern, and color attributes.
In the next chapter, we are going to consider the options and benefits of text in your designs and apply them to a sample illustration.
