User experience, or UX
UX can be defined as the sum of the parts within branding, design, and usability. For our part, we will briefly cover how branding plays its part in the UX role. We will then speak about design only a little bit as we’ve covered design for the fundamental parts of this project already. After we cover those quickly, we can then move into usability. Let’s go for it!
Branding
To cover this broadly, branding through a UX lens is about how the overall experience the user will take through the journey of the game will need to also be reflected in the branding. For an overly contrasted example, think about if a horror game ‘s branding used soft tones and pastels with flowers and happy music as their marketing material. This obviously doesn’t fit the branding of the game and will cause dissonance in the user’s experience.
