Sculpting a demon bust
In this section, we will begin creating a demon bust, which we’ll ultimately finish in Chapter 7. This section focuses on blocking out the sculpture and establishing its overall proportions and design:

To prepare for this project, we will start by gathering references. Then, we will enter DynaMesh mode and use a couple of basic sculpting brushes to work on our sculpture. Along the way, we will look at how to set up hotkeys and some sculpting workflow tips.
Gathering references for your sculpture
The first step in creating a successful sculpture is often to gather reference images. This is especially important when the subject is new to an artist, but even highly experienced and skilled sculptors use a lot of references for their work. It presents the artist with unique ideas and allows them to identify common characteristics of successful artwork that can be adapted, modified...
