Roles and responsibilities – senior level
A senior-level network IT position is typically a role that requires a higher level (and wide range) of professional experience, expertise, and responsibility compared to lower-level positions in the same field. This could range from 8 to 10 years or more, depending on the organization and industry. Most importantly, they must possess a deep understanding of network technologies, protocols, and best practices. They must also have in-depth and advanced knowledge of the following topics:
- Networking concepts such as routing and switching
- Network security
- Virtualization
- Network architecture
