GitHub

GitHub is a web-based Git repository hosting service (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Internet_hosting_service) that is the best repository service for Dynamics NAV so far. By best, I mean the feature that it provides is best suited to our purpose, and it is also very easy to implement and maintain. Let's discuss how to implement GitHub for Dynamics NAV.

Setting up GitHub for Dynamics NAV

The first step is to sign up for GitHub. You can use any valid e-mail account to create an account in https://github.com. After you confirm your account from the e-mail, you should be able to access the online service of GitHub. You can also download the desktop version of GitHub, which is highly recommended. The following screenshot shows the desktop application of GitHub:

The preceding figure is the desktop version of GitHub, which allows you to take control of most of the activities locally. I would recommend that you take a look at the available features of GitHub desktop.
