Using the object states to customize the feedback messages

In this section, you will create the feedback messages of your Knowledge Check Slide. You need to create a correct caption and a failure caption. You could use the exact same techniques as those already discussed earlier in this chapter. However, this time, you want to go a little further, using the Object States feature of Captivate.

Perform the following steps to create a meaningful failure message:

1. Still on slide 9 of the Chapter07/takeTheTrain.cptx file, look at the Quiz inspector.
2. Open the Failure Messages drop-down menu and choose 1 in the list of options. A single red failure message appears on the stage.
3. Write Nope! Click anywhere or press 'y' to continue. into the failure message.
4. Right-click the failure message and choose the Replace Smart Shape menu item.
5. In the list of available shapes, choose the Oval Callout (or any other callout of your liking).
6. Move and resize the callout Smart Shape so the text fits...
