Adding details
In this section, you will add data fields to all entities. From the initial workshop, you might have already got some ideas. If this is not the case, conduct another one to share the state of the ERM and discuss the fields for each entity relevant to the process.
Tip
Existing data structures in an IT enterprise are large and complex. Make sure to not just copy the ERM, but strip it down to fit the purpose of our process application.
We will ignore field-level data types for now, as these are technical implementation details and not relevant for the current project phase.
In addition to the required fields, you will typically want to add other fields to all entities in your model. Some are optional, so read the description to decide which of them you need.
Tip
Our data model needs to reflect all required data, and we are free in how we design it. In a real project, most of the data would be sourced from other systems, and we have to accept it as-is....
