In this chapter, we discussed the automation of the last block (Networking) in a data center. The future of all data centers is toward automation. Automation is the foundation of cloud orchestration platforms. Hardware is becoming more standard and commoditized, and will be managed by software. Software-defined networking is slowly progressing in service providers and enterprises with many deployments of commercial products.
OpenDaylight is a great foundation to manage not only a software-defined Ethernet network but also other aspects, such as IoT and city.
