Introducing the Layer palette
Just like most options in Clip Studio Paint, layers have a palette that acts as a command center for managing and creating layers. When we look at the Layer palette in the following screenshot, we can see that there are many icons and options that apply to different layers:

If you cannot locate the Layer palette in your Clip Studio Paint interface, go to Window in the File menu and click on Layer to display it.
There are two drop-down menus and a slider on the top row. The first drop-down menu on the left is used to decide the palette color, changing the color of the icons next to the layer name in the Layer palette. It is used to organize layers easily by grouping them by color. For instance, when making an image with many characters, each layer related to one character can be assigned a layer color for easy identification.
