Remember the following important points about what we learned in this chapter.

Standalone devices operate from independent power sources
Independent power sources can be in the form of batteries, wall AC to DC adapters and USB power hubs
Remotely located devices may need to be powered from solar powered cells
There are three ways to power the Arduino board from external sources; via USB, through the DC IN port, and by using the VIN pin
5-volt tolerant peripherals can be directly powered from the Arduino 5V power supply pin
