Process-driven workflow (business process management)
As can be expected, a process-driven workflow comprises a series of activities connected via a process diagram. In BAW, we support the use of the Business Process Model and Notation (BPMN 2.0) to model the process sequence. BPMN 2.0 is a graphical notation for business users to visualize a business process and can also be used as an interchange format between different BPMN 2.0 modeling tools.
Here are some of the basic workflow patterns that can be composed in IBM BAW to create an end-to-end process flow. Each pattern is a combination of work being done by humans, robots, and systems, and the automation developers can choose to combine these patterns to form arbitrarily complex workflow logic:
