The application, as we know, is a set of services that serve a business function. Monitoring an application is an important aspect in the realms of monitoring and observability. It typically involves monitoring the health of the overall application, the health of each individual service, the health of every component in a transaction flow, measuring service level agreements (SLAs) and service level objectives (SLOs), and other fine-grained details. Observability focuses on overall health, the health of services, and measuring SLAs and SLOs. Fine-grained details monitoring is out of scope as observability focuses on establishing an overall picture of the business service and how it interacts with other services.
