Requirements are customer needs that are defined in relation to a project. They are tracked using the requirement number or ticket number in Jira to monitor and control the project's progress. Linking requirements to the test cases helps the project team to estimate not only the effort required in terms of resources and the time required to validate the linked requirement, but also helps to understand which requirement has more defects during the execution phase.
In this chapter, we will be covering the following topics:
- Creating the Jira issue type as a requirement
- Establishing relations between requirements and test cases
We will also look at how Jira helps us to define the project requirements using the Jira issue types.
