Creating a new document
In this recipe, we are going to look at creating your first document from scratch. We will run through the New Document settings involved and ensure that your document is set up properly depending on the different types of documents you are creating.
By the end of this recipe, you will be able to set up new documents properly for print or digital use, while ensuring errors aren’t introduced that will cause problems at a later stage.
Getting ready
To complete this recipe, simply open InDesign on your system. If you have the home screen enabled still, look at the Changing the interface preferences recipe for details on how to disable it and access the main interface.
