You may have already done so but since we don’t know when you will take a break from reading this, we will continue to develop the best practice habit of updating your package lists before every single new installation, just like we did when we transitioned from Elasticsearch to Kibana.
Begin by typing sudo apt update
. If you’re new to working within a Linux environment, you might have noticed by now that even with the frequency of us utilizing this command, there is an almost constant stream of new updates for one thing or another. If you haven’t experienced this yet, then that just means you’re working at a quick pace and covering a lot of ground at once. There’s nothing wrong with that but don’t let it fool you. The first time you step away for a day or two, you’ll come back and run this command to find there are new package updates available.
