Choosing the right leadership
Unlike roles such as Scrum Master and Product Owner, architects are better placed to shepherd a team of intellectual talents to achieve craftsmanship by setting high standards and growing the team toward achieving those goals. In this context, architects play a critical leadership role by assuming the following responsibilities:
- Develop high-performing individuals through a continuous, reflective learning culture.
- Collaborate, inspire, and influence individuals to build and align solutions.
- Focus on continuously improving systems and concerned processes (Kaizen).
- Lead prioritization to balance sustainability with lead time.
- Facilitate collective architecture decisions and resolve conflicts.
- Minimize technical constraints and help to remove technical impediments.
Good architects are like an A player. They set stretched goals for themselves, show a willingness to act, display personal resiliency, and embrace change quickly...
